IT related job openings hit record high; Demands for IT Customer Support and IT Helpdesk increase.

Global Job Postings to Job-Seekers Ratio of August Hits 1.33


Daijob Global Recruiting Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Human Holdings Co., Ltd. headed by Mr. Yuji Shinohara, has summarized the Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio of August 2016.

※The Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio is a calculation of the supply-demand balance between job openings which require business conversation level in at least 2 languages and the number of job-seekers who are equipped with that ability (No. of Job Openings / No. of Job Seekers). A high ratio indicates that there is a high number of jobs available for a low number of job-seekers.

◆Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio by Occupation

Looking into the Global Job Postings to Job-Seekers ratio by occupation, “Finance/Accounting” takes first place with an increase of 1.96 points with a ratio of 6.25. Next, “Logistics/Retail/Consumables/Fashion” increases by 2.50 points with a ratio of 4.00 and hits record high since August of 2013. In addition, “IT” has decreased by 0.08 points with a ratio of 3.52.

The ratio of “Finance/Accounting”, 6.25, will be the second highest number hit since the 7.23 of November 2013. The reason why this has happened is due to the decrease of the job-seekers in the field of “Finance/Accounting”. For “Logistics/Retail/Consumables/Fashion”, both the job openings and job seekers decreased. However, compared to last month the numbers of job-seekers in this field have decreased to 33%, which may have been the cause of the high ratio. The ratio of “Logistics/Retail/Consumables/Fashion”, which is 4.00, will be record high since August of 2013. Lastly, “IT”, continues to have a high ratio since April 2016, hits record high regarding the number of job openings since August 2013. In addition, the number of job openings for “Customer Support Engineer” and “IT Helpdesk” hits record high.

The high ratio continues on due to the gap in the supply and demand balance. Regardless of the number of job openings which had the tendency to decrease after May of 2014 ended up increasing on May of 2015.

By looking into the Global Job Postings to Job-Seekers Ratio by occupation, “Telecommunications” takes first place with an increase of 0.54 points with a ratio of 2.84. Next, “Construction/Real Estate/Rental” takes second place with an increase of 1.96 points with a ratio of 2.82. Lastly, “Electricity/Gas/heating/Water Supply” decreases by 6.60 points with a ratio of 2.40.

Regarding “Telecommunications” the numbers for August may have happened due to the number of job openings being 129% compared to last month and the number of job-seekers was leveled out. Next “Construction/Real Estate/Rental” joins the TOP 3 since October of 2015, and the number of job openings is 250% compared to last month. Within them, the number of job openings related to “Residence・Real Estate・Facilities” hits record high since August of 2013.
