Global Job Postings to Job-Seekers Ratio for August 2015 reaches 1.35
The operators of bilingual job board Daijob.com, Daijob Global Recruiting Co.,Ltd, have created a summary of the Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio for the end of August 2015.
※The Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio is a calculation of the supply-demand balance between job openings which require business conversation level in at least 2 languages and the number of job-seekers who are equipped with that ability (No. of Job Openings / No. of Job Seekers). A high ratio indicates that there is a high number of jobs available for a low number of job-seekers.
◆Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio by Occupation
The occupation with the highest Job Openings to Job-Seekers ratio for August was "General/HR/Legal", following a rise of 0.56 points to a ratio of 6.00.This was followed by "Medical/Pharmaceutical/Bio/Materials/Food" at 4.30 after a decrease of 0.81 points, and "Machinery（Automotive/Plants/Precision Equipment)" at 4.08 after a rise of 3.20 points.
The reason behind "General/HR/Legal" has a high ratio of 6.00 is the number of jobs available has increased by 1.44 from last month. Especially, the number of jobs for legal affairs compliances became the best ever since August of 2013. By looking into the industry providing jobs for legal affairs compliances, banks and securities connection occupied 44%, also by career level the managerial position occupied 50% of it.
◆Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio by Industry
The "Finance/Insurance" industry saw an increase of 1.70 points ranked top with a ratio of 3.55, followed by "Manufacturing" at 2.10 after an increase of 0.12 points and "Telecommunications" at 1.41 after a drop of 0.08 points.
In the "Finance/Insurance" industry, the number of job offers increase by 1.39 from July. Especially, the job offers from bank and securities became the best ever since August 2013. Looking into the job opening type, the legal affairs compliances occupies 24% of the applications. Next, investment banking/M&A jobs occupies 22%. Also, it has become clear that within the "Finance/Insurance" industry, the legal affairs compliances under the bank and securities-related job openings has increased its tendency from April 2015 to now.
There is a possibility that the needs of jobs for legal affairs compliances and investment banking/M&A in banks are increasing as they are needed to support Japanese companies planning to go overseas.
