Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio of October Hits 1.01


 Daijob Global Recruiting Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Human Holdings Co., Ltd. headed by Mr. Yuji Shinohara, has summarized the Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio of October 2016.
※The Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio is a calculation of the supply-demand balance between job openings which require business conversation level in at least 2 languages and the number of job-seekers who are equipped with that ability (No. of Job Openings / No. of Job Seekers). A high ratio indicates that there is a high number of jobs available for a low number of job-seekers.

◆Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio by Occupation

By looking into the Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio by occupation, “Electronics (Appliances/Semi-Conductors)” takes first place with a decrease of 0.28 points with a ratio of 2.79. Next, “General Affairs/HR/Legal” increases by 0.14 points with a ratio of 2.74. Lastly, “Marketing/PR” decreases of 0.36 points with a ratio of 2.74. In addition, “IT” decreases by 1.06 with a ratio of 2.48. As the number of job-seekers have increased to 131% compared to last month, out of the 22 occupations, 17 breaks the ratio from last month. Which resulting to having a ratio below 3.0 and this is including the TOP 3. The last time the TOP 3 occupations have gone below the ratio of 3.0 is back in March of 2014.

Regarding “Electronics (Appliances/Semi-Conductors)”, the number of job openings is 115% compared to last month, which allowed it to take the top spot for October. For “General Affairs/HR/Legal” the number of job openings decreased to 89% and the number of job-seekers decreased to 85% which resulted into the high ratio. The number of job openings for “Marking/PR” has decreased to 88% and “IT” increased to 105%. For “IT” the number of job seekers in the field is 150% compared to last month. Also, the number of job seekers with the experience of “Project Manager” and “Customer Support Engineer” (which both have the tendency to increase) hits record high since August of 2013.

For additional information, “IT System Consulting” has increased to 140% and hits record high. As the number of job openings and job seekers are gradually increasing in the occupation of “IT” it is possible to think the flow of these professionals will increase.


◆Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers Ratio by Industry

By looking into the Global Job Openings to Job-Seekers by industry, “Manufacturing” takes the first spot with a decrease of 0.48 points with a ratio of 2.15. Next, “Electricity/Gas/Heating/Water Supply” increases by 1.50 points with a ratio of 2.00 and “Finance/Insurance” decreases by 0.72 points with an increase of 1.76.

For “Manufacturing” the number of job openings decreased to 94%, but the positions for Semi-Conductor, Electricity, and Electronic Parts Maker is 132%, which is record high since August of 2013. Regarding the available positions, the demand for office work has increased. For “Finance/Insurance” the number of job openings decreased to 91% but on the other hand, the number of jobs for life insurance and property insurance increased to 128%; which hits record high since August of 2013.

In addition, it did not join the Top 3, the number of job openings for Software Vending, Wholesale, and Retail hits record high since August of 2013.
