Report of the 23rd Daijob Go Global Career Fair

70% of attendees had experience studying overseas, around 30% of attendees studying abroad after working for three years.

On October 10th 2014, Daijob.com held the 23rd Daijob Go Global Career Fair for foreign-affiliated and global Japanese companies wishing to hire skilled, bilingual professionals.
Around 60% of exhibiting companies were foreign-affiliated and 6 companies with operations in Korea were present, looking to hire for technical positions in manufacturing. While many companies specialized in IT, industries such as logistics/retail, manufacturing and hotels/travel/food were also represented. 74% of attendees had over 3 years of business experience and 68 nationalities (inc. Japanese) were represented at the cosmopolitan event.

◆Attendee Questionnaire Results: Current Job Hunting Situation

When asked "Why are you thinking of joining a foreign-affiliated/global company?", many students responded it was due to the "opportunities to work abroad", while those with work experience mentioned a "flat company structure".

◆Attendee Questionnaire Results: Studying Abroad

Among the questionnaire respondents, 72% had experience studying abroad while 28％ studied abroad after 3 years of work experience. 70% of those who studied abroad before turning 26 studied at a University or post-graduate institution, while 65% studied abroad for over a year. Of that 65%, 35% studied abroad for over 3 years.

38% of those who studied abroad after turning 26 studied at a language school while 55% studied at a University or post-graduate institution. 67% studied for over a year while 31% of those studied for over 3 years. Only 6% of those who studied abroad after turning 26 stayed for less than 3 months, compared with 12% of those under 26.
